The Yankees-Dodgers World Series is one of the most expensive and fastest-selling games of all time on the secondary market

The superstars will hit both coasts starting Friday, and you’ll have to pay a hefty price to see the action.

This year’s World Series pits the New York Yankees against the Los Angeles Dodgers – the twelfth time the two historic franchises have met in the Fall Classic.

There are 64 All-Star nominations between both squads, making it one of the most high-profile sporting events of all time.

And people are lining up to get to the stadiums.

According to StubHub, sales on the site for this year’s World Series quadrupled those of the Astros-Phillies World Series starting in 2022 and surpassed sales for last year’s Fall Classic between the Rangers and Diamondbacks.

As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, the average price for a ticket sold on StubHub is $1,667, the highest price recorded by the site since 2017 – the entry price for Friday’s Game 1 for a single ticket is $1,170 .

According to TicketIQ, only the Cubs’ 2016 World Series season has been more expensive since they started tracking pricing data – this year’s average price on their website is $3,887, while the Fall Classic season averaged $4,557 per Ticket cost.

The website also states that the average price for the contests at Yankee Stadium (Games 3, 4 and 5) averages $4,875 per person, the second highest price behind just $6,641 at Wrigley Field from that magical season 2016. Of course, the prices are high due to the combination of the matchup and the fact that the first World Series game since 2009 will be played in the Bronx on Monday night.

Games 1, 2, 6 and 7 at Dodger Stadium are the third-highest ever at $3,146, even though it is their fourth World Series since 2017.
