The fallout from Georgia’s loss to Texas and Week 9 predictions headline the College Football Fix podcast

The showdown between Georgia and Texas on Saturday evening had serious consequences. From a controversial officiating decision that led the Longhorns to a rude reception in Texas in their new league to the Bulldogs’ establishment as a class of the SEC, there were some major storylines in Week 8.

Things didn’t go particularly well for Alabama over the weekend, as the loss to Tennessee further highlighted concerns about the Kalen DeBoer era and whether this is a playoff-caliber squad. The loss also raises questions about how many teams the SEC can add to the 12-team field when several contenders are on shaky ground.

Heading into Week 9, the Missouri Crimson Tide will be tested again. But that’s not the only big duel. LSU visits Texas A&M, Notre Dame gets a tough test from Navy and Oregon hosts Illinois. Who will win these showdowns?

USA TODAY Sports’ Dan Wolken and Paul Myerberg discuss these topics and more in this week’s version of College Football Fix.
