Juni and Salt Edge are working together to provide open banking capabilities

Sweden-based financial platform Juni has expanded its collaboration with Salt Edge to provide customers with open banking capabilities.

To offer its customers a more integrated and streamlined financial solution, Juni has further strengthened its partnership with Salt Edge to offer new open banking features. The two companies initially joined forces in 2020 as part of Salt Edge’s Account Information Services (AIS) partner program, which gave June access to data from over 2,500 banks across the EU without encountering difficulties in technical processes. The current move aims to build on this collaboration and meet customers’ requirements, preferences and needs while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Compliance and enhanced customer experiences

Since Juni operates in a regulated industry, compliance is a priority for the financial institution. To support open banking capabilities in line with PSD2 requirements, Juni selected Salt Edge to develop both connector and waiver services, giving the company a leg up in data access, provisioning and management of its AIS/PIS infrastructure can leave his partner. Delegating the technical and compliance portions of Open Banking to Salt Edge not only eliminates the need to build and maintain these capabilities in-house, but allows the company to focus its efforts on its core objectives of providing optimized financial tools while simultaneously Ensuring PSD2 compliance.

Commenting on the announcement, June representatives emphasized that leveraging open banking capabilities will allow their company to offer a more integrated financial solution to its customers. Additionally, the collaboration with Salt Edge focuses on helping Juni provide the larger financial ecosystem with access to AIS and PIS capabilities, helping the latter embed Juni into other solutions and improving the banking experience for customers.

Additionally, Salt Edge leaders noted their commitment to enabling financial institutions like Juni to focus on development and evolution as their business navigates the complexities that come with open banking compliance. This expansion of Salt Edge’s partnership with Juni comes shortly after Salt Edge teamed up with Erste Group to bring secure multibanking services to the CEE region. Supported by the expertise of both organizations, the collaboration was intended to optimize multibanking solutions in the region and scale the functionalities of Erste Group’s private and corporate customers via the George Banking application and the ErsteConnect API.
