Mario & Luigi: Brothership has reportedly leaked online

Throughout the Switch generation, first-party titles have often leaked online before their official release date. Following the reveal of the game’s credits earlier this week, Mario & Luigi: Brothership has now reportedly leaked online.

According to multiple reports, at least one person gained access to an early copy of the title and uploaded the ROM to the Internet. Brothership is only expected to arrive November 7thTherefore, there could easily be a lot of leaks about the game’s story and characters until then.

What we’ve already found out is that this latest entry in the Mario & Luigi series appears to be a collaboration between Nintendo and Acquire (a Japanese studio known lately for games like Octopath Traveler).

This latest leak comes after Super Mario Party Jamboree was leaked online a week before its official release date.

It’s still so early that there are likely to be spoilers, so it’s probably time to be careful.

If Nintendo isn’t allowing Amazon US pre-orders because it arrives a day or two early to some people, I think Nintendo has bigger problems to deal with.

Not even supposedly. I have the file.

(And before people get mad: I still buy the physical version. I support developers.)

You’d think a plumber would be skilled at stopping leaks

My goodness, another leak? sigh Thanks for the tip. I hate people who do that.

There’s not much Nintendo can do about physical copies leaking early since it’s no longer in Nintendo’s hands at that point. Also happens with most non-Nintendo games.

I really appreciate this and without irony 🙏🏽 I love leaked games.
They help me figure out whether or not I want to spend $60 on a game.

I need to find out where these people get their games from.

If I had a dime for every major Nintendo game leaked, I’d probably be a millionaire by this point.

The upside to all this is finding out who actually made the damn thing.

Source surprise. I’m more surprised if big games haven’t already been leaked at this point.

I just hope the game is good. Especially when you consider that hardly any of the old staff is still working on it.

Nintendo’s approach to leakers and their attempt to stop them appears to be about as successful as the war on drugs at this point.

Does this happen with every game, but you only report games published by Nintendo? Or is Nintendo clearly under attack on this front?

It’s normal for these leaks to happen eventually because Nintendo started distributing the physical game to many stores earlier. As usual, this will have no impact on sales.

If they get an early copy and manage to release it online, they’ll probably be closer to Nintendo than Nintendo might think.

Huh. More leaks? It’s a shame Mario isn’t a plumber anymore. Bowser always hated plumbers. (In the cartoons)

There is also any Switch first-party titles, hasn’t that happened yet?

Very sad that this keeps happening and that leakers keep getting away with it. But unfortunately the cookie just crumbles.
