SNCO Parks and Rec hosts second open house for Gage Park Master Plan

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Shawnee County presented updated plans for Gage Park to the community Tuesday evening.

SNCO Parks and Recreation held an open house following a similar meeting in May to discuss the overview, timeline and goals in the Gage Park Master Plan. The department did its best to incorporate some of the ideas and wishes expressed at the last open house into a plan that it is continuing to develop.

“We have put together some ideas for the direction we want Gage Park to go,” said park director Tim Laurent. “Tonight we’re asking people to look at these ideas and give us their feedback. Maybe there are things we haven’t thought of yet, things they would like to see in the park. Really it’s just a matter of gathering as much public feedback as possible.”

Laurent says they feel particularly committed to making the project a success because Gage Park is popular with so many people.
