Utah High School Football Computer Rankings (10/22/2024)

As the 2024 Utah high school football season moves to the state playoffs in Week 11, High School on SI has released its fifth in-state computer rankings of the season.

The Corner Canyon Chargers remain No. 1 in the current Class 6A rankings after a win at Herriman on Friday. They received a first-round bye in the 6A round. The Skyridge Falcons have remained firmly in second place.

A look at the Class 5A standings shows the Roy Royals retaining the top spot. The Bountiful Braves are in second place, followed by the Brighton Bengals in third place.

SBLive’s formula was created using the linear algebra-based ranking algorithm inspired by the Colley Bias-Free Ranking method. Colley’s method was developed by Wes Colley, Ph.D., an astrophysicist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He developed his algorithm to address the subjectivity and controversy surrounding BCS college football selection in the 1990s and early 2000s using a method that did not use subjective variables.
