Bungie’s creative leadership team has been integrated into PlayStation Studios as a live service support team

Bungie’s Creative Studios (BCS) team is fully integrated into PlayStation Studios.

Bridget O’Neillthe former senior director of BCS, has been appointed senior director of PlayStation’s creative department. In her new position, she will “lay the foundation for a creative team capable of supporting all PlayStation Live Service games.”

When Bungie was fired 220 employees in July, the company also announced a change to increase integration with its parent company. 115 employees were taken over by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The creation of a new studio to build one of its incubation projects is also part of these plans, but Bungie and PlayStation have not yet provided any information on this.

According to O’Neill, BCS will still have a hand in the game Destiny 2 And Marathons development while at the same time “sharing our experiences… with other studios developing live service games.” […] With PlayStation and Bungie working together, we will be able to tremendously boost the development of new games as they enter this highly competitive market.”

What does the live service for PlayStation look like now?

Last year, PlayStation expanded its plans for the live service genre swayed. At least two projects, spin-offs for Twisted metal And The Last of Uswere rather openly canceled after some time in development.

Now the multiplayer shooter from Firewalk Concord was withdrawn less than a month after launch. The studio current fateand the future of the game are currently unknown.

The only known entity is a Cooperative spinoff for Guerrilla Games’ Horizon franchise. But even that is currently a secret, and it may not be the only one Multiplayer offer from this particular series.
