Work continues on a water leak at Greiner’s Bend in Virginia City.

The leak was first reported last week.

Boiling water is still not necessary. Storey County says affected residents will be notified immediately if a boil water notice is required.

Greiner’s Bend northbound remains closed while crews work.

ORIGINAL STORY:

According to the Storey County Sheriff’s Office, crews temporarily addressed a water leak in Virginia City.

The sheriff’s office shared a post on Facebook saying the water leak blocked the northbound lane of Greiner’s Bend around noon Wednesday.

The road has since been reopened after the water main was temporarily repaired.

The emergency services will be back on site on Thursday to fully complete the repair work.

Boiling water is not required at this time, but the Sheriff’s Office will notify residents when a boil water notice goes into effect.
