Disney has been on a real adaptation spree over the last decade or so, scouring its animated catalog for titles and characters it can use to produce new live-action films.

Even if the quality and box office results were a stroke of luck, the company remains true to the idea: The prequel “Mufasa: The Lion King” will be released in December, “Snow White” and “Lilo & Stitch” will follow next year, and “Moana” will be released in 2026 .

We can add Prince Charming to the list as filmmaker Paul King has inked a deal to adapt the character into a new live-action fairy tale, according to Deadline.

That’s the big question at this point – Charming rarely has much of his own story and is usually seen as a romantic interest for the likes of Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, even though his true origin lies in “Cinderella.”

However, Deadline has heard that we shouldn’t expect any specific reference to any of the stories – but it will still be interesting to see how King and his collaborators interpret the story.
