Former President Donald Trump is placing heavy emphasis on Pennsylvania in the final days of the election, hoping to gain favor with swing state voters.

But Saturday’s performance in Latrobe got off to a rocky start.

Trump opened his speech at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport with a tribute to legendary golfer Arnold Palmer – with an apparent focus on Palmer’s genitals.

“Arnold Palmer was a man, and I say that with all due respect to women, I love women. … This man was strong and tough, and I didn’t want to say it, but when he showered with the other professionals that came out there, they said, ‘Oh my God.’ That’s unbelievable,” Trump said.

Peg Palmer, Arnold Palmer’s daughter, later called Trump’s comments a “poor choice of approach” to honor her father, but made it clear she was not upset by the comments.

Trump’s rally on Saturday was just one stop in major pushes across the state over the weekend.

Pennsylvania is one of the most sought-after battleground states; With 19 Electoral College votes up for grabs – the most of any seven swing states – both parties are aware that the Keystone State could decide the race.

Trump visited a McDonald’s earlier Sunday and interacted with voters before making a prominent appearance at the Steelers game that evening.
