The Super HiFi deal saves £400 on this fantastic Naim wireless system

If space is a limiting factor in your search for home audio nirvana, then a quality all-in-one hi-fi system could be the solution. Not only can the very best play music from your favorite music streaming services, but they can also connect to your TV via HDMI while amplifying the sound of your flat screen TV.

Take the excellent 2nd generation Naim Mu-so wireless speaker system as a prime example. It’s available for just £899 at John Lewis, Peter Tyson and Sevenoaks, a saving of more than 20 per cent.

We originally tested the five-star Naim Mu-so 2 model in 2019 for £1,299, but early last year it dropped to £1,149 and reached £899 during the Black Friday sales – and the fact that it’s at seems to have settled at this price gives you a great opportunity to save big.

The Mu-so 2 remains as up-to-date in streaming intelligence (and great looks) today as it was when it was first introduced, offering wireless streaming via a variety of methods (AirPlay 2, Tidal Connect and Bluetooth), physical connectivity ( including HDMI ARC and 3.5mm), six custom-designed drivers and a whopping 450W total power.

In our Mu-so 2 test, we gave it five stars across the board in terms of sound, features and workmanship. We particularly liked the comprehensive feature list, the great all-in-one design and the rich, rhythmic and insightful sound.

With the Naim Mu-so 2 you can stream high-resolution audio via UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) and access all your favorite music via AirPlay 2, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth and the built-in Chromecast. Now it’s also Roon Ready.

In addition, USB, optical and 3.5 mm inputs provide flexibility when connecting sources such as a CD player. This model has also been equipped with an HDMI-ARC socket, allowing users to connect their TV for relaying high-quality Blu-ray formats. This means you can use the Mu-so 2 as both a great Hi-Fi streaming system and a soundbar alternative for amplifying movie soundtracks.

The Naim app is updated and easy to use, you can create multi-room systems with other compatible Naim network products and we still love using that stunning illuminated touch-sensitive dial to change volume, sources and playback.

Sonically, it remains a punchy, powerful and attention-grabbing beast. The bass response is powerful and controlled, it can get very loud and fill a large room with dynamic sound, and there is rhythmic agility. The Mu-so 2 is still a great, entertaining performer that we have no problem recommending. Since then, we’ve tested many more all-in-one systems and versatile wireless speakers – for example the five-star Ruark R410, Sonos Era 300 and Sonus Faber Omnia – but the Mu-so 2 still sounds fantastic and remains a clear one Recommendation .

And given this significant price cut, don’t ignore this excellent £899 deal for an equally excellent premium system.
