Evolution showrunner confirms big time jump for season 3

Criminal Minds: Evolution The third season is officially making a major time jump with its upcoming premiere.



According to TVLine, the upcoming third season of Criminal Minds: Evolution is about to take a big leap forward. Showrunner Erica Messer reportedly confirmed that the third season will take place six months after the conclusion of Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2. This is a comparatively large time jump for the series, whose first two seasons were only a few weeks apart.

Criminal Minds: Evolution debuted in 2022 as the sixteenth season of the original Criminal minds. While the original series was largely in the Monster of the Week style, Criminal Minds: Evolution presented an overarching story centered around Zach Gilford’s Elia Voit, a prolific serial killer at the heart of an extensive network of like-minded murderers. The follow-up series brought back a number of fan favorites including Joe Mantegna, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez, AJ Cook and Paget Brewster, the latter two having previously left the franchise.

Ahead of the series’ second season finale, Messer spoke about how Cook and Brewster’s exits and subsequent absences affected the series, stating: “It left a scar on all of us who lived through it. Messer continued: “If you have a character who really thinks about whether [she’s] I’ll stop so they don’t shoot [her]How can we not talk about the elephant in the room, which is these two [actors] were fired all those years ago? Get fired, but don’t give up. We survive. We’re still here.

While Criminal Minds: Evolution In the third season, all the main characters from the previous season will return to the series. Additionally, there are plans to introduce at least one new character who has already proven to be a fan favorite. In September, it was confirmed that Aimee Garcia would join the cast as Doctor Julia Ochoa, a neuropsychiatrist whose less heavy-handed methods will bring her into conflict with Agent Luke Alvez, played by Adam Rodriguez. Garcia is best known to fans as forensic scientist Ella Lopez Lucifer starring Tom Ellis and Lauren German.

Criminal Minds: Evolution is currently available to stream on Paramount+.
