Willem Dafoe’s member was so ‘confusing’ on set that film bosses decided he needed a ‘stunt penis’ – News

A director stopped Willem Dafoe from taking out his phallus on set and replaced him with a stunt double for a pretty hilarious reason.

You’ll probably best recognize the actor from hits like Spider-Man (2002) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) And Poor things (2023).

However, if you look further back on the 69-year-old’s career, you realize that he made a lot more films, and one of them would have resulted in you seeing a lot more of him if things had turned out a little differently.

While Dafoe has taken on roles in some major blockbuster films, he can also be seen in various arthouse films, such as Lars von Trier’s Antichrist.

In the 2009 film, Dafoe took on the role of an unnamed married man, referred to simply as “He,” opposite Charlotte Gainsbourg’s “She.”

And well, there’s quite a bit of nudity involved in the film – and that’s putting it lightly.

But instead of director Lars Von Trier having the main actors both completely undress for the role, Dafoe wasn’t actually allowed to take out his penis for the nude scenes, as the film hired a replacement actor for those scenes.

But why?

In a 2009 interview with The Boston Phoenix, the acclaimed director said the star was “so big” that it “confused people” – which led him to bring in another body.

“As for Dafoe…he has a huge cock. We had to cut those scenes out of the film,” he explained. “We had a replacement for him because we had to take out the scenes with his own cock.” **k.”

When asked to elaborate on the decision, von Trier said, “We had to do it because Will’s was too big.”

The director was further questioned in the publication about whether Defoe’s penis was too large to fit on the screen, which the director denied.

“No, too big because everyone was very confused when they saw it.”

Whatever that means, who knows, but it’s pretty hilarious.

And unsurprisingly, the revelation led to many jokes being made about Dafoe’s member.

When asked what he thought of all the comments about his phallus. The actor told Vulture: “I mean, it’s fine if they want to focus on that. It’s a film that I think is beautiful and was a joy to make. But I can only do it. If people want to do that, what they want to talk about is disturbing, but that’s their business.”
