NBA and Sport 24 announce multi-year extension

Sport 24 broadcasts more than 125 live regular season, playoff and final games each season on select airlines and cruise ships.

LONDON – The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Sports 24the first and only live 24/7 sports broadcaster serving the international airline and cruise industry, announced a multi-year extension to its existing contract that will see Sport 24 broadcast more than 125 NBA games live each season to passengers on select airlines and cruise lines .

As part of the renewal, the IMG-owned channel will broadcast five NBA games live every week during the league’s regular season and major events, including the Emirates NBA Cup (previously called the NBA In-Season Tournament) and the NBA All-Star, the NBA Play-In Tournament, the NBA Playoffs and the Finals.

The 2024-25 NBA regular season begins on Tuesday, October 22nd when the New York Knicks visit the Boston Celtics at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Los Angeles Lakers at 10:00 p.m. ET.

Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra are available on more than 665 aircraft from 11 airlines, including Emirates, the NBA’s global airline partner, and on more than 125 cruise ships from over 15 cruise lines worldwide. Both channels were launched in 2012 and are produced by IMG‘s production headquarters in Stockley Park in the UK. Sport 24 shows live coverage of major sporting events and tournaments in American football (onboard only), soccer, golf, hockey and tennis. The NBA’s collaboration with Sport 24 began in 2015.
