Christopher Nolan’s next film could be a horror film – with a murderous twist

For a long time, horror was a genre that many actors and directors used as a starting point for their careers. The actors were given the opportunity to portray a wide range of emotions on screen, while the directors were able to prove they could manage big tensions with what would normally be a microscopic budget. James Gunn, James Wan, Adam Wingard, David F. Sandberg, Nia DaCosta and Scott Derrickson are all horror directors who found success with independent genre films and then went on to produce massive blockbusters, and we’ve honestly lost count of how many became actors becoming household names thanks to horror, only to move on to bigger and “better” (see: mainstream and critically acclaimed) projects. The pipeline from horror to Oscar winner is numerous, but it doesn’t often flow in the opposite direction.

Well, that’s about to change thanks to “Oppenheimer” director Christopher Nolan, whose 2026 mystery film will reportedly be a period piece from the vampire era…
