2024 Election Live Updates: Trump Repeats FEMA Conspiracy During North Carolina Visit; Harris joins Cheney in courting suburban voters

Donald Trump’s 30-minute shift at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania was one of his most meme-worthy campaign stunts to date. The Bucks County franchise was closed during the visit and the former president’s work was carefully choreographed and documented in his campaign.

But while many online were quick to point out the former president’s violations of health and safety protocols, like not wearing a hairnet or visibly washing his hands, as a former teenage fry cook, I have to be honest: He…didn’t really done a bad job.

According to the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office:

Monday, October 21, was the eighth day of early voting for the November 5 presidential election. On Friday, the number of voters in Georgia surpassed 1 million and on Monday, as of 3:30 p.m., it passed 1.5 million with 1,504,332 voters, surpassing the previous early voting performance.

“Georgia voters know we’ve made it easier to vote. It really is that simple,” said Secretary Raffensperger. “For the last four years, we have worked tirelessly to prepare for this election, introducing early voting days and investing in infrastructure, only to be left with the lies of Jim Crow 2.0 and a missed All-Star Game to be rewarded. Despite the criticism, we are battle-hardened and ready.”

Vice President Kamala Harris and former Republican Representative Liz Cheney are at the second stop of their joint campaign day – Royal Oak, Michigan.

Harris said at the event: “I think most of us, regardless of your party affiliation, believe that the true measure of a leader’s strength depends on who you single out.” And that’s why it doesn’t surprise me that Liz Cheney and I to be on the same stage.”

The vice president added: |I saw a lot of Republicans go up to Liz Cheney and thank her. They may not do it publicly…I think she has shown extraordinary courage in this post-January 6 environment…in fact, in my view, she is not alone.”

Cheney said: “When I look at the nature of the threat that Donald Trump poses and … think about that level of instability, that level of erratic decision-making and misogyny, that cannot be trusted to the power of the Oval office.” “

She added: “When Donald Trump says that his political opponents are the enemy within, and when he thinks about using violence against them, we all shouldn’t be so afraid of doing nothing.” He should be voted out of office.. .vote for Vice President Harris.”

A former Park Service ranger said Friday that U.S. Senate candidate Tim Sheehy of Montana lied about a gunshot wound that the candidate said came from fighting in Afghanistan — and went public with one Accusation that has plagued the Republican’s election campaign for months.

Former Ranger Kim Peach’s claim that Sheehy actually shot himself on a family trip to Montana was immediately dismissed by Sheehy and his allies as a smear campaign orchestrated by Democrats to determine control of the Senate.
