: Yeah, I was in Ireland filming Russell Pope’s Exorcist, which, damn it, was a dream. He’s a very generous guy. When this audition came about, I was really excited about the movie with Russell, and when I heard about it, I thought, “Oh, that would be really cool.” But my mind was elsewhere.

I went to Russell and was like, “Yo, there’s this movie that Anna Kendrick is directing for the first time. I would play the serial killer, but I don’t know, bro, because I’m filming here. I want to get back to my thing. He’s like, “You’re going to do it, Danny.” I was like, “Okay, dude, I’ll do it.”

I thought, oh my God, she’s going to kill it. She was so prepared and knew the story inside and out. I saw her passion in the way she expressed herself in the meeting and I thought, man, I really want this role.
