The Sarnia Legionnaires’ two-game winning streak ended Sunday with a 4-1 road loss to the Chatham Maroons.

Carter Fogarty scored a goal and Logan Phillips made 28 saves for the Legionnaires in front of 715 fans at Chatham Memorial Arena.

The Legionnaires’ record fell to 2-7-1-0 in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.

The teams traded power play goals late in the first period. Fogarty opened the scoring with his fifth goal, but Liam Campbell replied two minutes later.

Carter Chadwick scored the winning goal on another Maroons power play early in the second period.

The Maroons (6-5-0-0) took control of the third period with goals from Parker Nyitray and Cruz Ferguson before the two-minute mark.

The Legionnaires fired 38 shots at goalkeeper Gannon Hunter. They went scoreless on five power plays in the third period and were 1-8 overall.

The Legionnaires host the Stratford Warriors at Pat Stapleton Arena on Thursday at 7:10 p.m. and visit the Listowel Cyclones on Friday.

The Legionnaires also reacquired 18-year-old forward Lucas Durham, who had 18 points in 48 games with Sarnia last season. He started this season with the Dauphin Kings of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Feasey gets trick for unbeaten Bees

Brennan Feasey had a hat trick and Dane Gubbels made 38 saves in the Alvinston Killer Bees’ 8-3 victory over the Orangeville Lightning in the Ontario Super Hockey League on Saturday.

Grant Spence, James McEwan and Jacob Chantler each had a goal and two assists at the Brooke-Alvinston-Inwood Community Centre.

Jamie Schaafsma and Rylan Bowers also scored for the Western Division-leading Killer Bees (5-0-0).

They will host the Tilbury Bluebirds on Friday at 8 p.m. and visit the Tillsonburg Thunder on Saturday.

Knowles secures victory for Squires

Jakob Knowles made 46 saves in the Petrolia Squires’ 7-1 road win over the Strathroy Jets in the Ontario Super Hockey League on Friday.

Adam Arseneault, Joey Ferrera, Kraig Wright, Kyler Keating, Brandon Biggers, Eric Marsh and Daniel Gibson scored in the Squires’ third straight win.

The Squires (3-2-0) host the Jets in a rematch Friday at Greenwood Recreation Center at 8:30 p.m

Flags are closed by Habs in first place

Nolan Bourdage scored a goal and Josh Breault made 27 saves in the Mooretown Flags’ 4-1 loss to the first-place Lakeshore Canadiens in the Stobbs Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League on Saturday.

Canadiens goaltender Boe Piroski saved the flags after allowing Bourdage’s goal 2:29 into the game and finished with 40 saves in the game at Mooretown Sports Complex.

The Flags (5-4-1-1) visit the Essex 73’s on Tuesday, host the Blenheim Blades on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and visit the Amherstburg Admirals on Sunday.
