PRINCETON, N.J. – After strong weeks on the gridiron, Columbia’s Chase Goodwin (offense), Cornell’s Luke Banbury (defense), Columbia’s Hugo Merry (special teams) and Princeton’s AJ Pigford (rookie) earned weekly Ivy League Football honors.

Banbury was named the Stats Perform FCS National Defensive Player of the Week following his historic performance against Bucknell.

Offensive Player of the Week
Chase Goodwin, Columbia (Sun., QB – Houston, Texas)

  • He completed 28 of 40 passes for 334 yards, all career highs, and added two touchdowns in Columbia’s 23-17 win at Penn
  • First Columbia quarterback to throw for over 300 yards since Anders Hill in 2017
  • Helped the Lions to their first win at Franklin Field since 1996

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Luke Banbury, Cornell (Sr., LB – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)

  • First Cornell player in single-game history (since 1995) to record a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a pick-six
  • Had seven tackles, including five solo stops, and scored three PBUs
  • His pick six was returned 26 yards

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hugo Merry, Columbia (Sun., PK – Frederick, Md.)

  • Made three field goals, his most of the season, in Columbia’s win over Penn
  • His first play was his ninth in a row, tying a Columbia record
  • Whistled four times, each for a touchback

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
AJ Pigford, Princeton (Fr., LB – Snellville, Georgia)

  • Recorded three tackles in Princeton’s win over Brown
  • Scored a sack for a loss of 10 yards
  • A pass interception was recorded
