Knicks and Lakers have the most expensive tickets in 2024-25

Sportscasting.com collected and analyzed secondary ticket market data for every NBA game to determine the average ticket price for each team during the 2024-25 season.

• The Portland Trail Blazers ($16) have the cheapest NBA tickets. No other NBA team has an average starting price under $20.

• Each Knicks game costs over $100. For reference, every game for the Pistons, Jazz and Trail Blazers costs less than $55

NBA teams with the most expensive tickets

When looking at the data, there are some obvious trends. The major franchises like the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers are at the top of the list when it comes to the highest average ticket price. These two teams, along with the Golden State Warriors, are the only three that have an average starting price over $100, with the LA Clippers and Boston Celtics rounding out the top five.

When it comes to the highest single ticket price, the two games at the top of the list both fall on Christmas Day.

The game between the Warriors and Lakers in San Francisco has a ticket price of $400, the most expensive ticket in the NBA this season. It’s one of three matchups between the teams to finish in the top five, with the other two costing around $300.

Across the country, Victor Wembanyama will make his only appearance of the year on December 25th at Madison Square Garden when the Spurs take on the Knicks. It is the most expensive ticket for the team with the highest average price, the entry price is $386.

Each of the five most expensive games of the season, including matchups against each other, involves one of the Warriors, Knicks or Lakers.

Which NBA teams have the cheapest tickets?

At the other end of the spectrum, many of the teams projected to finish at the bottom of the table are also at the bottom of the average ticket price list.

The Portland Trail Blazers have the cheapest average starting price in the NBA at $16. Seven of their home games offer single ticket prices of $7 or less, and the total cost to attend all 40 games is $639, about the same amount for two Warriors-Lakers games.

The Jazz, Hornets and Wizards all have an average cost of around $20, and the Rockets have the fifth cheapest price at $21. In addition to Portland, Charlotte and Washington also have games with a ticket price of $5, which is the cheapest ticket in the league this season. The Bucks, somewhat surprisingly, have a game against the Pistons priced at $8.
