Canceled Pokemon Rodeo Spin-Off Game Leaked Online – NintendoSoup

Earlier this week, Game Freak was hit by a massive data breach that reportedly affected several internal design materials for unreleased Pokemon projects.

Now, a canceled spin-off title has reportedly leaked online. This spin-off was titled “Pokemon Rodeo” and is described as a fighting game in which players ride various Pokémon into battle against each other. Players could give Pokémon “color” to unlock different powers, and it was planned to release on Switch and mobile devices.

Additionally, prototype gameplay footage and concept art are circulating online, which at the time of writing can be viewed below via Centro Leaks:

At the time of writing, it is not clear why this project has not yet seen the light of day. However, some believe that Game Freak could still be working on it under the new codename “Synapse”, as the game was among the future projects that were claimed to be in development in the hacker’s original leak. Additionally, the game’s appearance bears an uncanny resemblance to Palworldwhich Nintendo is suing for patent infringement. Nintendo has already taken legal action against fan games before they released their own official title with similar ideas or concepts.
