NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army is bringing the basketball-themed DUNK Distracted Driving™ show to local high schools Oct. 21-22.
Energetic basketball performers prepare for a dynamic show for students that includes an educational and informative message about the dangers of distracted driving.
The team will arrive at Thibodeaux High School at 9:15 a.m. and McDonough 35 High School at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, October 21st. then Tuesday, October 22, at Bonnabel High School starting at 10 a.m. and at Edna Karr High School at 3 p.m
“The DUNK team features some incredible athletes performing high-flying, over-the-rim performances for the students to enjoy,” said Matthew Gimenez, commander of New Orleans Recruiting Company. “We [the Army] We understand the urgency that parents and school officials are communicating to their children about distracted driving, and we are here to spread that message in a new way.”
Football and home game season is in full swing and is notorious for car accidents among young adults. That’s why the DUNK team offers the high-energy exhibition with a message to students to raise awareness about the seriousness of distracted driving.
The Army and AGA Nation have teamed up to educate inexperienced teen drivers about the dangers of texting, talking or driving under the influence.
