Evaluation:

A video is shared with online users in October 2024, claiming the clip shows a woman holding a giant white rabbit. The woman appears to be standing in a room full of cardboard boxes.

For example, on October 17th, X user @Catshaldeprsn posted (archived) the video with the caption “Giant Rabbit”.

Other users also posted the same video Facebook, Topics, X And YouTube. A user on Threads posted a caption in Arabic that read: “A rabbit was raised at home with the best care and became a family member of the house.”

However, the truth was that the video came from a user using artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

Self-proclaimed professional AI trainer and digital artist Jyo John Mulloor posted the video on Facebook and Instagram on October 14. As of October 17, the Facebook version received over 477,000 views, while the Instagram post received 17.7 million views.

The caption revealed more about the creation of the video showing the giant bunny, namely that Mulloor used itThe generative AI platforms Midjourney and Sound AI. It read: “Congratulations Nicole! Your magical giant rabbit that talks like a human is absolutely amazing!”

While some of the top comments mentioned the video’s AI origins, other users seemed unsure whether the clip was real or fake. For example, one user asked: “Is he real???” This comment alone received over 300 likes. Another user jokingly said: “Stop feeding the Cadbury bunny.”

We reached out to Mulloor to ask about his AI creations and will update this story if we receive a response.

Newborn unicorns and giant owls

While Mulloor’s video of the giant rabbit reached nearly 18 million views, that number was quite small compared to other clips he had previously posted, namely the three he had pinned to the top of his feed.

For example, on September 28th, he posted a video of a young girl holding a unicorn with wings (archived). The caption mentioned both Midjourney and Kling AI again, adding: “After a long wait, we finally picked up our little one from DHL yesterday! Welcome home, magical baby!” The clip received over 320 million views.

In another unicorn-inspired video posted on Oct. 5 (archived), Mulloor shared a short clip that appears to show baby unicorns. The caption mentioned Midjourney and Kling AI and added: “Welcome to the world, newborns! Our farm is blessed with 16 new little ones, some with individual horns.” The video received more than 75 million views.

The following day, October 6, he posted a video showing a woman holding a giant owl (archived). He mentioned the same generative AI tools again and said: “Congratulations, Jenny! Your magical owl that speaks like a human is absolutely amazing!”
