Vote now in the poll for BV Footballer of the Week for Week 8

Player of the Week nominees are selected by The Eagle’s athletic staff, considering suggestions from coaches. Vote for your favorite player from now until Monday at 4 p.m.

QB Will Hargett, A&M Consolidated: The Tigers’ signal caller led the offense to 55 points in their win over Pflugerville Hendrickson. Hargett completed 11 of 19 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns.

ATH Dereion Mitchell, Hearne: Mitchell helped lead Hearne to its first win of 2024 as the Eagles defeated Corrigan-Camden 42-15. He caught five passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, he had four tackles, two sacks, one interception and one touchdown.

WR Tristan Whaley, Madisonville: Whaley made the most of his opportunities as the Mustangs beat Caldwell 56-14. He had 131 yards and three touchdowns on four catches, including a long of 82.

RB Aydan Martinez-Brown, College Station: Martinez-Brown was involved early and often for the College Station offense in a 58-18 win over Buda Hays. He finished the night with four touchdowns, two rushing and two receiving.

QB Cooper Murr, Brazos Christian: The sophomore showed what he can do in the air and on the ground in a 29-12 win over Central Texas Christian. Murr rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns while also throwing for 184 yards and another score.
