The Dallas Mavericks are preparing to start the 2024-25 NBA regular season with Luka Doncic cleared to play.

The 25-year-old Doncic was ruled out for all games of the 2024 NBA preseason due to a bruised left calf. However, he has taken full part in training in the last few days. Barring a setback, he will be available to head coach Jason Kidd for Thursday’s season opener against the San Antonio Spurs at American Airlines Center.

A post on his Instagram account confirmed the anticipation for his seventh NBA season and also went viral.

In 2018, Doncic left Real Madrid and joined the Texas-based organization after being named Rising Star, season and Final Four MVP and winning the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Naturally, the Slovenian sensation became the leader of the Mavericks.

In addition to Doncic, German striker Maxi Kleber was also medically cleared after being sidelined throughout the preseason schedule due to a sprained left ankle. “Our health is trendy” mentioned Kidd, “It’s great to have Maxi back.”

Kessler Edwards (left ankle sprain) is also expected to be cleared to start the season. However, Dante Exum will miss several months after undergoing surgery on his right wrist.

Last season, the Mavs reached the NBA Finals presented by YouTube TV. A third-place Finals finish and first since winning the Larry O’Brien Trophy in 2011 was offset by the Boston Celtics being crowned NBA champions in five games.
