CSU football wins the Ram-Falcon Trophy – The Rocky Mountain Collegian

Cait Mckinzie is a second-year student studying art, journalism and media communications. She is one of two photo directors for the 2024/25 school year. Although Mckinzie grew up in Renton, Washington, she knew she wanted to attend Colorado State University since middle school. She had only been to Colorado twice, but visited the campus once, and that was all she needed. At first, there wasn’t much in Fort Collins that Mckinzie was familiar with. But in high school she was co-director of visuals for her school newspaper, so she applied to The colleague to immerse myself again in a similar environment as a photographer. Mckinzie was first introduced to photography by her grandfather, who was a photographer most of his life. After he gave Mckinzie her first camera in her freshman year of high school, she began taking on all sorts of assignments for her high school newspaper to hone her skills. Of all the memories she made during her first year at CSU, most of the interesting ones came from her The colleague. A Halloween drag show assignment, a lot of mentoring, and a few months later, Mckinzie was offered the position of photography director for the next academic school year. Mckinzie is looking forward to another year at The colleague and would like to continue learning and growing during her time as one of the photo directors.
