Jets’ Garrett Wilson after Steelers loss: ‘I’m playing like shit’

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson was very blunt after his team’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Wilson played a big role in the 37-15 loss, but not in a positive way.

The Steelers managed an interception thanks to a drop from Wilson. A pass he deflected gave Pittsburgh six points.

Because of that, Wilson said the loss is his.

“I have to catch the damn ball. “I’m playing pretty damn good right now,” Wilson said. “I think that’s why we lost the damn game.”

New York was trailing 16-15 when Wilson missed the ball. One play later, after a long return by Steelers cornerback Beanie Bishop Jr., Pittsburgh scored another touchdown.

In support, quarterback Aaron Rodgers said he supported Wilson despite the play immediately after the mishap.

“I said I’ll come back to you. He is a dynamic player, we have to target him,” Rodgers said via video conference. “Of course no one has it worse than him, but he is a dynamic player.”

Wilson finished the contest with five catches for 61 yards. That was overshadowed by the interception in the second half.
