SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Oklahoma women’s golf team finished the first 36 holes of the Jim West Challenge with a score of 11-under 565 to finish third on Sunday at Kissing Tree Golf Club. The Sooners are three shots behind TCU and Houston, which are tied for first place after a 14-under 563 score.

Junior MaKayla Tyrrellwho competes as an individual, is in first place with a score of 8 under 136. The Southlake, Texas, product made five straight birdies on the sixth through 10th holes in the first round and finished with nine birdies through her first 18 holes. Tyrrell fired four more birdies in the second round, bringing his total to 13 birdies on the day. She finished the second round with a 2-under 70.

Junior Gracie Mayo led the OU lineup, posting rounds of 71-67 and finishing in second place (6-under, 138). Mayo made four birdies in the first round before firing an eagle on her first hole of the second round. She recorded three birdies in the next five holes before making three straight pars. After two bogeys in the next three holes, Mayo made four straight birdies and ended her round with a double bogey.

senior Reagan Chaney is two spots behind Mayo and sits in fourth place at 5-under 137. Chaney opened play with a 4-under 68. She made two birdies in her first three holes before bogeying the fourth hole. After eight straight pars, she equalized on the 13th. Chaney capped her round with two birdies on the 14th and 16th holes and an eagle on the 17th hole. She shot a 1-under 71 with three birdies in the second round.

Freshmen Audrey Rischer achieved a record of 68-75 rounds and thus took 19th place. Rischer recorded five birdies in the first round, including two consecutive ones on the 17th and 18th holes. After opening the second round with five overs over the first 13 holes, she strung together three birdies in the next four holes and reached 2 over before a bogey on the 18th.

Junior Savannah Barber recorded rounds of 73-74 and finished tied for 35th (3-over, 147). Barber made seven birdies in the first 36 holes, including two birdies on the 10th and 18th holes.

Junior Isabelle Schlick finished 5-over 149 and tied for 43rd, rounding out the OU lineup. Schlick recorded four birdies in each round.
