2024 NFL Week 7 Score, News, Highlights – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

What you should know

  • Watch “49ers Postgame Live” on NBC Sports Bay Area immediately following the conclusion of the Week 7 game or stream the show on the NBC Sports app for complete reaction, analysis and interviews.
  • The 49ers fall to 3-4 with a tough loss to the Chiefs, who improve to 6-0. Kansas City is now the only undefeated team in the NFL after the Minnesota Vikings lost to the Detroit Lions.
  • Shortly before the game, the 49ers announced that wide receiver Deebo Samuel was suffering from an illness but was expected to play. He went on the field on the first drive but couldn’t play after that. He went to the locker room late in the second quarter and was ejected shortly after halftime.
  • Brandon Aiyuk suffered a right knee injury with 0:37 seconds left in the second quarter and was sidelined at the start of the third quarter. The All-Pro wideout managed to limp off the field but was carted to the locker room. He finished the game with two receptions for 23 yards.
  • Rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall made his NFL debut nearly seven weeks after suffering a gunshot wound during an attempted robbery Aug. 31 in downtown San Francisco. The 2024 first-round draft pick caught three passes for 21 yards on five targets.
  • Quarterback Brock Purdy had one of the worst games of his NFL career, completing 17 of 31 passes for 212 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions. He scored two 1-yard TD runs, the 49ers’ only two touchdowns of the game. He finished with a passer rating of 36.7.
  • The 49ers will now have to lick their wounds – both literally and figuratively – as they prepare to host the Dallas Cowboys on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” next weekend.
