The Warriors are reportedly making the final decision on the impending free agent

The Golden State Warriors had to make their 2021 first round picks this offseason. Both Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody signed extensions in the offseason and the Warriors expressed a desire to keep both players in the organization long-term.

Kuminga and Moody have each experienced changing roles since being drafted under Steve Kerr. Kumiga showed who the Warriors want him to become last season, while Moody was solid with his limited rotation options.

Moody played well this preseason and reportedly received a contract extension.

Via Shams Charania of ESPN: “Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody has agreed to a three-year, $39 million extension to his rookie contract, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul tells ESPN. Moody has developed into an important, reliable rotation player for Steve Kerr and the Warriors.”

Moody averaged 15.5 points in just 20.1 minutes per contest in his six preseason games. When asked about the 6-foot-2 guard during preseason, Kerr had an interesting comment.

“He’s going to play a big role for us,” Kerr said. “But that also applies to many others. We sit in the dugout every day and ask ourselves, ‘How are we going to play against all these guys?'”

Moody was set to become a restricted free agent after this season, but now the impending free agent is getting an extension with Golden State. Moody’s extension shows that the Warriors have some level of confidence that he will be a regular contributor this season.
