The warming trend continues this week

Today was another sunny day across the Tennessee Valley, but warmer conditions are expected with high temperatures reaching the mid and upper 70s. The wind blows quite lightly from the northeast in the evening hours and the sky remains clear. Overnight lows will approach normal in the upper 40s and lower 50s by Monday morning. Patchy fog could develop in some areas for the early morning commute, but any fog that forms will likely clear by sunrise.

Expect more sunshine during your next week of work and school as temperatures remain above average in the upper 70s and lower 80s each afternoon. Despite the warm afternoons, clear skies and cool temperatures will prevail each evening with overnight lows in the lower and mid 50s. A weak cold front will move in by Thursday and provide some cooling through the end of the week, with highs falling back into the upper 70s.

The cooler air will be short-lived, however, as temperatures rise again over the weekend and afternoon highs will be back around 80 degrees. Unfortunately, there is still no sign of measurable precipitation across the region in the extended forecast. Based on the latest forecasts, the next chance of rain is expected to wait until early November.
