The Upward Trend for Women’s Basketball with NCAA’s Lynn Holzman

NCAA Vice President of Women’s Basketball Lynn Holzman joins ADU’s Tai M. Brown at the 2024 Women Leaders Convention in Baltimore to discuss the upward trajectory and momentum of women’s basketball. Holzman reflects on the “watershed moment” that occurred for the sport in 2021, sparking a gender equity report and sparking an influx of investment in women’s basketball. Holzman: “The NCAA has been positioned to lead the way by owning some of the existing gaps and turning them into actions around investments.” Holzman talks about the record-setting 2024 Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament Attendance, ticket sales, social media engagement and TV viewership, as well as several innovations around fan engagement and storytelling that the NCAA has leveraged to ensure this moment becomes a movement.
