Who leaked confidential US documents about possible Israeli attack plans?

U.S. officials are trying to figure out how two leaked, top-secret documents conveying Israel’s potential plans to attack Iran ended up on the Telegram app. According to the New York TimesThe documents were created “in recent days” by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, which analyzes information and images collected by US spy satellites.

There are several theories surrounding these leaked reports.

The first theory is that the Iranians hacked the US intelligence community and leaked the document as part of their psy operations against Israel. Given previous Iranian hacking attacks, it is certainly within the realm of possibility that they have the ability to hack the United States.

The Iranians also have a clear motivation, but it also suggests that they may not be able to defend themselves against the planned Israeli attack – even with the forewarning that the hack provides – and have instead chosen to do so leaked in order to forestall Israel’s plans.

Second, an actor within the US government may have leaked it, but the US government investigation itself appears to have reached a different conclusion. They have started investigating external actors.

Third, the Biden administration may have orchestrated the leak itself to delay the Israeli attack. Biden clearly lacks the courage to say “no” to Israel, so he is secretly sneaking intelligence with the aim of delaying Israel’s plans at least until after the US elections, where he may then seem like a backbone.

Fourth, the Israelis could leak this themselves, with the aim of diverting Iran’s attention by making it look for an attack in the wrong places.

Finally, fifth, as the US investigation focuses on external actors, the question arises as to whether a close American ally – a Five Eyes state (FVEY) or a NATO ally with access to FVEY information – leaked the data . If so, that would suggest that close U.S. allies are so frustrated with Biden’s refusal to stop Netanyahu from starting the largest war in the Middle East since World War II that they are taking matters into their own hands to help Netanyahu Sabotage escalation plan.

A Western diplomat recently told me that the only way to stop the war is to let the players who pushed President Biden from the Democratic nomination in July repeat their performance by forcing Biden to stop Netanyahu.

All this while Washington continues to feed the myth that its “leadership” holds the world together.
