There appears to have been a serious intelligence leak at the Pentagon

Earlier this month, Iran launched a massive ballistic missile attack against Israel. We have been waiting to see how Israel will retaliate, reportedly with a massive airstrike that will hit terrorist targets throughout the Middle East, particularly in Iran. With the 2024 elections nearing their final phase, there were reports that the target packages were finalized and it was only a matter of time before nothing happened.

Well, as it turns out, there was a massive security breach. Whether these two events are related is unknown, but it wouldn’t shock me if the reason for the stalled attack on Jerusalem was because someone at the Pentagon leaked their plans. Regardless, the bigger story is that there has been a massive breach of national security documents and there are fears more will be revealed (via CNN):

The leak is “deeply concerning,” a US official told CNN.

The documents, dated Oct. 15 and 16, began circulating online Friday after they were posted on Telegram by an account called “Middle East Spectator.”

They are marked top secret and indicate that they are only visible to the US and its “Five Eyes” allies – Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK.

They describe the preparations that Israel is apparently making for an attack on Iran. One of the documents, purportedly compiled by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, states that the plans involve Israel transporting munitions.

Another document says it comes from the National Security Agency and describes Israeli Air Force exercises with air-to-surface missiles, which are also believed to have served as preparation for an attack on Iran. CNN does not quote or show the documents directly.

A US official said the investigation was looking into who had access to the alleged Pentagon document. Such a leak would automatically trigger an investigation by the FBI along with the Pentagon and US intelligence agencies. The FBI declined to comment.

The National Security Council referred CNN to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Pentagon for comment. The Pentagon and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency declined to comment. CNN has reached out to the National Security Agency for comment.

Another US official said: “These two documents are bad, but not terrible. The concern is whether there are more.”

“Bad, but not terrible” sounds almost like the phrase Soviet officials likely used regarding radiation levels in the Chernobyl explosion. It’s no wonder Israel often goes it alone in its counterterrorism operations against Hamas operatives in Gaza: Biden’s people would leak it if it were shared, just as those same people leaked sensitive information about Russia’s invasion plans to the Chinese Ukraine informed Beijing then forwarded it to Moscow.

Is it shocking? No, because as has long been reported, we have suspected Iranian spies in positions who could obtain such information:

Another mess for the Biden-Harris camp as we enter the final stages here. It’s more disturbing than any of the cocktail napkins and state menus you’ll find at Mar-a-Lago.
