I loved We Live In Time by Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh. That's why we need more love stories like this

So…We live in time came out as part of the Cinema program 2024and it It broke me, but I mean that in an excellent way.

If you know me, you know that I’m not the biggest lover of romantic films. I’ll watch messy Love is blind Seasons and maybe check out some of them best romantic comedies of all time? Sure, on a good day, but most of the time I don’t enjoy them. I think a lot of the romances I see on these reality shows are obviously way too dramatic, and the ones in these movies are just so cliche. They are so unrealistic and hard to follow.

I understand that when people watch these films they see them as a form of escape, but sometimes I need a romantic film feels real; one that I connect with on a different emotional level. When I take a break from watching best fantasy films or destroying the entire MCU franchiseI need something that defines me injured.

We live in the time with Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh, accomplished that and more. But for me personally, it doesn’t matter how painful this movie is sometimes (as everyone knows from the trailers), we need Away more of these love stories like this.

It is an honest portrayal of modern love

This film is the most accurate portrayal of a modern relationship I’ve seen in a long time. We can watch all the “reality shows” we want, but at the end of the day, this is it Netflix dating series or The Bachelor or whatever it is that you like to see manipulate all the footage and make things much more dramatic than they normally are. None of it is authentic, and the same goes for modern romantic comedies.

The most obvious are the cliched moments, the stage meet-cute, and so much more, and while these can be fun, if you overdo them, you start to overdo them. 2 has power We live in time What sets the book apart from the rest is that it takes a real look at modern relationships and how they grow, develop and change over time. It shows how they can actually come from a chance meeting, not a dating app or a blind date or something like that.

Without giving anything away, the way Tobias and Almut meet in the film is a chance encounter. There is literally definitely not Their paths would have crossed if nothing had happened to them. If they had both been on dating apps there might have been a small incident, but honestly, the way it happened makes it all the more real.

Love comes out of nowhere and this movie is the perfect example of that. However, it also shows how feelings, values and morals change over the course of the relationship. As things get more serious, start bringing up the difficult conversations that lead to even more challenging conversations. That is real Love, compromise, collaboration and much more. It’s really beautiful.

It takes a look at life in the moment

As shown in the trailers, Tobias and Almut are going through difficult times due to health reasons. Again, without going into spoilers too much, there are a few really difficult Moments in this film that will strike a chord with a certain demographic because they dare to ask the question: If you only had a limited amount of time, how would you spend it?

We live in time has many themes, but one of them is exactly what the title says – living in the moment. You learn to appreciate every second you have, no matter what. But there is also the question of how you will spend this time with your family and loved ones, what decisions you have made to influence this time and much more.

It’s difficult to get over emotionally, especially if you’ve experienced this sudden time clock yourself or lived with someone who has. But it’s a beautiful way to show that no matter what, life is worth living right now, even in difficult times that question how strong we really are.

It shows the beauty of human resilience in difficult times

Something that We live in time What I succeed wonderfully in is elaborating the idea of human resilience.

Obviously we’ve seen resilience in so many different movies and TV shows. Jon Snow faces a crowd of soldiers in the Battle of the Bastards game of Thrones; Elodie climbs up the mountain maid refuse to die; Moana sails across the ocean to save her island Moana (which will definitely be a big topic upcoming Moana 2)—These are all great examples.

But what does We live in time The Moment of Resilience is all the more heartbreaking because it contains no fantasy elements. There are no magical beasts, monsters, or anything else for these characters to fight. Her resilience lies in fighting against her own body and the clock of life.

This is something in the truest sense of the word all from us can relate to it. Almut’s persistence in making a name for herself, showing her daughter that life is worth living, and continuing to strive for or come close to perfection even in the face of illness is absolutely overwhelming. It also teaches us all a valuable lesson about the meaning of life – how we must all strive to overcome our obstacles to become better versions of ourselves, even when the world feels like it’s falling apart.

It is painfully real and tells a love story that any of us could experience

This is the main reason why we need more love stories We live in time. Again, I don’t want to give anything away: this film is painfully real. It requires an honest look at the lives we lead, the people we allow in them, and how they impact us as we survive each day.

And it’s sad. And beautiful. And heartbreaking. And wonderful. And painful. That’s the beauty of it all. The is the reason We live in time is so important.

I knew the moment A24 made this film that it would be great. The best films from A24 are some of the most amazing films you can watch and now this film is joining them. We live in time is a painfully honest love story that perfectly captures what it’s like to love and lose, have and hold, appreciate and grieve, and so much more.

It is something that not only tells a story about romance but also about familial love, brotherly and sisterly love and justice Affection and care generally. When a romance film can hit all Aspects of it, you know it’s special.

Listen, romantic comedies are great and good for a day when you can turn off your brain, but We live in time is extraordinary. If we had more love stories like this, who knows, maybe dating culture would be different today. Maybe it would also be the way we view our relationships. But for now I can at least be grateful that A24 made this film and that we are lucky enough to live in it The Time when we can experience it first hand.
