Will Packers WR play Texans today?

(This story has been updated to add new information.)

It’s questionable whether Green Bay Packers receiver Dontayvion Wicks will play on Sunday against the Houston Texans after suffering a shoulder injury in last week’s win over the Arizona Cardinals. Wicks practiced on a limited basis in all three practices for the Packers this week. He is expected to make a game-time decision on Sunday.

Dontayvion Wicks injury update

Wicks practiced Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week, but coach Matt LaFleur said nothing other than that it “looked questionable” to play. The Packers listed him as questionable to play. The inactive list is due 90 minutes before kickoff on Sunday, so an answer on his game status against the Texans should be known around 10:30 a.m. CT. It’s possible that Wicks will have limited availability on Sunday, even if he is active.

How long will Donytavion Wicks be available?

Due to his immediate return to training this week, Wicks is dealing with a minor injury and will need to be considered on a week-to-week basis. When he returns against the Texans, he is at risk of re-injury, which is believed to be a sprained shoulder.

Packers WR depth chart

The Packers have Jayden Reed, Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs at receiver, providing more options should Wicks miss time. Bo Melton and Malik Heath are competent complementary options. Given the talent and experience as a receiver, the Packers can take the cautious route with Wicks if he needs another week to get his shoulder healthy.
