Chinese ‘wife murderer’ gains fame as ‘kept man’ whose Japanese wife makes money while he plays video games | On trend

A Chinese man is causing a stir on social media when he openly embraces his life as a “cared-for man” supported financially by his Japanese wife. The man known online as “Sudden Fantasy” has gained an incredible 1.4 million followers on Douyin in just one month, captivating audiences with his unusual lifestyle and heartfelt storytelling.

After living in Japan for eight years, men have become a topic of conversation, especially since traditional gender roles in Japan often place men as the primary breadwinners while women focus on housework. His situation challenges these norms and his story has resonated with many.

From fights to support

Sudden Fantasy describes himself as “an ordinary man from Beijing” and highlights the remarkable support he has received from his wife Fenghua, who comes from a wealthy Japanese family. According to a report by the South China Morning Post (SCMP), Fenghua’s mother has traveled to numerous international destinations.

He says that financial difficulties initially prevented him from entering into a relationship with Fenghua. “At one point I was having problems with food,” he reveals, and explains how she came to his aid by bringing him food and helping him with his tuition fees. After dating for two and a half years, the couple tied the knot.

Life as a “protected man”

In an unexpected turn of events, the man decided to quit his job, relying entirely on his wife’s financial support. Now he spends his days playing video games while Fenghua handles all household chores. He admits that he does not help with housework, saying, “I don’t even think about paying her back the 260,000 yen (US$1,740) that she keeps in a jar for my daily expenses; That would just make her cry.”

Through his videos, Sudden Fantasy offers an insight into her life and talks about the importance of supporting each other in a relationship. He enjoys staying in bed with Fenghua until noon on Sundays, although he gets up earlier to make sure she’s comfortable and not worried about her late start to the day.

A new definition of partnership

Even though he doesn’t contribute financially or with household chores, Sudden Fantasy believes his role as a “sheltered man” is about improving each other’s lives. He allows Fenghua to use the toilet first to avoid stepping on a damp floor, showing his commitment to harmony in their home.
