So I’m homebound again. This time my car battery is completely dead. Now it doesn’t even read as charging with a brand new trickle charger. Those cheap little $20 trickle chargers are the reason it’s dead. After I brought the car home a week and a half ago, I hooked it up to an old one. I didn’t check whether the thing worked or not. Apparently a whole week without charging was enough to destroy the battery. I made an appointment with my mechanic this Thursday for a new battery. The thing was getting pretty old anyway. Even with constant charging, five years is about the limit.

Actually, I fibbed a little about being homebound. I still have my trusty bike. With our unseasonably warm weather, I plan to bike into town later to pick up some groceries. I can fit a lot of stuff in a pair of panniers. Maybe I’ll even stop by the dollar store and pick up some new Christmas lights. It’s not too early to think about it, is it?
