PREP SWIMMING: Wright picks up big 100 free win at Kroc Center

COEUR d’ALENE – Sandpoint High junior Kale Wright won the 100-yard freestyle by more than four seconds and was the winner of the Bulldogs’ 200-meter medley relay and 200 freestyle relay in a meet that featured Coeur d’ALENE ‘Alene, Lake City, Moscow and Lakeland attended the Kroc Center on Saturday.

Freshman Lou Foust led the winning 200 freestyle relay and took second place in the 200 freestyle. Senior Max Zuberbuhler took second in the 100 backstroke, freshman Bodi Demmons second in the 200 individual medley and Wright second in the 50 freestyle for Sandpoint, which beat Lakeland, Moscow, Lake City, Kellogg and Wallace in a head-to-head race.

For the girls, senior Ava de Leeuw placed second in both the 100m freestyle and 500m freestyle, while junior Mia Driggs placed second in the 100m breaststroke. Senior Ryleigh Bamer swam to a second-place finish in the 100-meter butterfly.

Sandpoint returns to action on October 26 at the University of Idaho.
