In the ASU Homecoming Weekend shooting, 6 people were shot and 1 person was killed

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – Six people have been shot and one person is dead in a shooting on Albany State University’s East Campus.

According to Coroner Fowler, he received a call about a male victim who died from his injuries in Phoebe.

Multiple agencies are working to piece together what happened. Currently, Radium Springs is closed and traffic is being rerouted.

According to Police Chief Michael Persley, they do not know a motive for the shooting. One or more suspects have not yet been identified. It’s still unclear where the shots were fired, but we know it was near the student union.

Some victims were treated at the East Campus Student Union. The GBI is on site.

The Albany Police Department will be holding a press conference tonight to give us an update.
