College football live scores, games, updates: Georgia at Texas, UCF at Arkansas and more

Week 8 is a big week for the SEC.

In the first of the evening’s top two matchups, No. 11 Tennessee overcame a difficult start to beat No. 7 Alabama 24-17. We’ll see if No. 1 Texas can defend its home in tonight’s showdown with No. 5 Georgia.

In another game, Brady Cook suffered an early injury before leading No. 19 Missouri to a win over Auburn in a tough performance. Also broken on Saturday: Travis Hunter. Colorado’s two-way star left at halftime after re-injuring his shoulder, but the Buffaloes didn’t need him for a stunning win over Arizona.

Reigning national champion Michigan suffered its third loss of the season, falling to No. 22 Illinois 21-7.

Live116 updates

  • UCF avoids disaster after a player drops the ball at 1

How can this still happen… in 2024? (No one recovered the ball, so UCF kept possession and scored soon after.)

  • End of third quarter: Georgia 23, Texas 15

The Bulldogs are on the move and looking for a rebuttal. Carson Beck hit Oscar Delp for a 43-yard gain, just after another big chunk play, and Georgia finds itself near the red zone.

  • Touchdown Texas!

The Longhorns are in the end zone after Quinn Ewers finds Jaydon Blue out of the backfield for a 17-yard score.

What a wild turn of events in Austin!

  • After a lengthy discussion, the officials take down the flag

In a bizarre moment after Texas fans rained water bottles onto the field, officials huddled together and decided it wasn’t pass interference after all.

Upon return, the Longhorns will have the ball at the Georgia 9-yard line.

  • Big Texas INT called back

The Longhorns had a pick and a long interception return on that play that was negated by a defensive pass interference call, and Texas fans are not happy about it.

  • Texas turns it around on downs

Georgia’s defense remains strong on the edge of the red zone as Texas QB Quinn Ewers misfires on fourth-and-6. The Bulldogs will have it back at their own 30-yard line.

  • The Longhorns got out of the shadow of their own goal post with a deep ball from Quinn Ewers to Matthew Golden.

Now they are on the rise and approaching the red zone.

  • Texas forces a quick punt and has the ball back, but it is deep in its own territory at the 5-yard line.

  • Landing at Iowa State

The Cyclones find the end zone when Rocco Becht shoots it in at the goal line to cut UCF’s lead.

  • Touchdown Texas!

Quinn Ewers caps an eight-play, 55-yard drive with a short TD throw to Isaiah Bond.

After a two-point conversion from Ewers to Bond, the score is 23-8.

  • Quinn Ewers is back as QB for Texas

We’re back in the second half and the Longhorns are on the move. They are now past midfield.

    Ewers is back at quarterback.

  • LSU touchdown

The Tigers took a 24-10 lead shortly after that tip-ball interception by Whit Weeks.

  • Halftime: Georgia 23, Texas 0

The Bulldogs go for another field goal at the end of the first half.

Texas has 38 total yards so far. Georgia’s Jalon Walker has 7 tackles, 3 sacks and 2 QB hurries.

  • Fumble recovered by Georgia!

Now Arch Manning fumbles the ball after being hit in the backfield and Georgia’s Jaylon Walker grabs the ball.

The Bulldogs have another short field to work with.

  • With less than two minutes left in the first half, Texas got the ball back at their own 20.

Arch is still in the game at QB.

  • UCF takes the lead over Iowa State

The Golden Knights just took the lead over No. 9 Iowa State with a pick 6 from UCF’s Brandon Adams.

There is just over a minute left in the first half.

  • Arch Manning replaces Quinn Ewers

Looking for a spark, Steve Sarkisian turned to backup QB Arch Manning. But the Longhorns also couldn’t move the ball much with him under center and have to pass it back to the Bulldogs.

There are just over 2 minutes left in the half.

  • Georgia adds FG

The Bulldogs get three more points after a short drive.

    It’s 20-0.

  • Georgia touchdown!

Just like that, it’s 17-0. And again it’s Trevor Etienne stretching to the goal line after a 15-yard run.

So far in Austin it’s only been Bulldogs.
