College football scores, schedule, NCAA top 25 rankings, games: LSU vs. Arkansas, Kansas State in action

Saturday’s college football schedule features 18 of the top 25 AP teams in action on what is arguably a momentous day of action in mid-October. While two SEC Top 15 matchups highlight the slate, there’s plenty to keep fans busy across the day’s three showcases.

No. 6 Miami travels to Louisville in the noon window as the undefeated Hurricanes look to continue their storybook start led by star quarterback Cam Ward. However, the Cardinals are just a 5-point underdog and had no problem knocking out the Canes on the road last season.

The afternoon window is highlighted by two ranked battles. No. 24 Michigan travels to No. 22 Illinois for a Big Ten matchup on CBS. At the same time, No. 11 Tennessee hosts No. 7 Alabama in a battle of one-loss SEC teams with College Football Playoff aspirations. An injury-plagued Notre Dame team also faces a test this afternoon when the No. 12 Fighting Irish take on Georgia Tech, 5-2.

While the main attraction of the evening window is No. 1 Texas vs. No. 5 Georgia, No. 8 LSU and No. 9 Iowa State will also face conference opponents. The Tigers travel to face a gritty Arkansas team while the Cyclones host UCF.
