Steam makes the game 9/10 free to download, but you only have 48 hours – PC

I’m still catching up on a few bangers from 2023, so you can imagine how 2024 has only made my backlog worse.

I imagine quite a few of you are in the same boat, so I doubt you’re looking for more titles to play.

However, if you feel such a longing, then I have a free game that you can purchase for a limited time.

This one is titled Europa Universalis IVand it’s perfect for all strategy fans.

Developed by Paradox, Europa Universalis IV It was released in 2013, and while I don’t want to make anyone feel old, it could now be classified as a “classic.”

In this historical strategy simulation, you rule your own country, rewrite history and build an empire.

If you like the Sid Meier’s Civilization and Age of Empires franchises, you’ll feel right at home here.

Speaking of which, Civilization VII starts next year – and we had the opportunity Preview the game at this year’s Gamescom.

On Metacritic, the game received a respectable 87 rating from critics, while Steam users gave it a very similar 86% approval rating.

At full speed, Europa Universalis IV would cost you £34.99, but the developers are currently running a free “weekend” that actually extends beyond the weekend and ends on Wednesday October 23rd.

That’s not all, during this time you can purchase the game for just £4.54 – that’s an 87% discount – and this offer is also valid until October 23rd.
