The Highline Community Symphonic Band’s free “Shine” concert will take place on Sunday, October 27th

The Highline Community Symphonic Band will present a free concert titled “Shine!” on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at 2 p.m. in the Highline High School Theater (map below).

This newly constructed theater is located across from the ball fields at the rear of the school.

The performance, conducted by Corinne Smith, will feature a collection of luminous musical works by various renowned composers, including Gustav Holst, Leonard Bernstein, Florence Price, Danny Elfman, Frank Ticheli, David Maslanka, John Philip Sousa and even a piece by Icelandic artist Björk.

The concert promises an afternoon of captivating band music showcasing different styles and eras.

The Highline Community Symphonic Band is funded in part by the City of Burien and King County’s 4Culture, supporting the arts in the local community.

The concert is open to the public and free and provides a wonderful opportunity for the community to enjoy live music.
