Will Anthony Richardson and Jonathan Taylor play in Week 7?

Meghan and Steve discussed the status of the dynamic QB-RB tandem in Indianapolis on Injury Report Live.

Every Friday at 3 p.m. ET, Steve Buchanan and Meghan Townsley report on the latest injury news Injury report live! Check out what they think about the recent injuries Anthony Richardson (diagonal) And Jonathan Taylor (ankle).

Thanks to backup quarterback Joe Flacco, the Colts were able to pull off an ugly 20-17 win against the Titans last Sunday. However, the team will likely turn back to the franchise QB Anthony Richardson ($6,000) this week against the Dolphins. Since Week 4, when Flacco took over, the Colts have the 11th-most passing yards in football (254.0). Under Richardson, they averaged just 194.3 YPG.

At running back, the team has already announced that Jonathan Taylor will miss his third straight game. While Trey Sermon ($5,500) While Taylor has done most of the work in his absence, Indianapolis hasn’t gotten much going on the ground in the last two weeks (89.5 rushing yards). Head coach Shane Steichen could turn to him Tyler Goodson ($5,400)who had a good day at Tennessee (8 carries for 51 yards).

How will Richardson’s return impact the Colts’ wide receivers? Which running back will step in for JT? Meghan (@mtownsleyy) and Steve (@SBuchanan24) spoke at length about Indy’s offenses on Friday’s edition Injury report live:

  • Meghan believes so Alec Pierce ($5,200) is geared towards success. Although the deep threat was inconsistent, he had several games over 100 yards with Richardson under center.
  • Josh Downs ($5,700) could be an absence. The second-year wideout only scored five goals a game with ARich, compared to an average of ten per game with Flacco.

The full analysis can be found here:

  • Despite a miserable Week 6 (18 carries for 29 yards), Steve believes a matchup against the Dolphins is “a perfect storm” for Sermon.
  • Although Miami’s defense is a significant downgrade from Tennessee’s, Sermon’s lineup is now more favorable since so many of him were burned last week.
  • The Colts should put up points, but Richardson’s inaccuracy makes backing up any pass catcher a gamble. This makes Sermon the safest player in the squad.
