What is at stake?

The future of the College Football Playoff hangs in the balance for both programs, as Alabama and Tennessee have each suffered one loss this season and the two teams are battling for fifth place in the mighty SEC. The Crimson Tide lost their last game at Neyland Stadium in 2022. Tennessee dropped into the top 25 after an overtime win over Florida and has an open date looming.

Vols QB Nico Iamaleava was sacked three times by Florida, while Tennessee faces Lance Heard and John Campbell Jr. and has struggled to protect him in consecutive games. They were also charged with some criminal offenses. Alabama had four sacks in a win against South Carolina. But when he can do both running and passing, Milroe is one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in college football.

Tennessee: When the Vols’ offense is functioning at a high level, RB Dylan Sampson racks up tough yards between the tackles. Since last year’s Citrus Bowl win over Iowa, Sampson has rushed for over 100 yards in six of his seven games. He already has 15 rushing TDs this season, the most by an SEC player in the first six games of a season since 1992.
