Universal Epic Universe Opening Date, Ticket Details Announced

The countdown is officially on.

We now know the opening date for the highly anticipated new Universal Epic Universe theme park at Universal Orlando Resort.

Epic Universe will open next spring, just before the busy Memorial Day weekend, which many consider the unofficial start of summer.

“With the addition of this spectacular new theme park, our guests will have an unforgettable vacation experience with a week of thrills that will be nothing short of epic!” Karen Irwin, president and COO of Universal Orlando Resort, said in a statement. “Our universe will never be the same.”

The first phase of parking tickets will go on sale next week. Here’s what you need to know:

What is Universal Epic Universe?

Universal Epic Universe will be Universal Orlando’s fourth park. It offers 50 unique, immersive experiences across five worlds: Celestial Park, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.

These experiences include unique rides and shows, character meet-and-greet opportunities, themed meals and more.

When in 2025 will Epic Universe open?

Universal Epic Universe opens on May 22, 2025.

Meanwhile, guests can get a first look at the Epic Universe Preview Center at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk shopping, dining and entertainment complex, which is open to the public and does not require park tickets.

There is a sprawling model of the park and an accompanying augmented reality app that allows you to interact with the model and learn more about the park via your smartphone. There are also some photo opportunities and souvenirs from the Epic Universe.

How are Epic Universe tickets sold?

Select tickets will go on sale next week and will become more widely available in the coming months.

The first phase of tickets will go on sale next Tuesday, October 22nd as multi-day tickets and holiday packages.

Guests can choose between three-, four-, or five-day tickets, with only one of those days taking place at Epic Universe and the rest at Universal Studios Florida or Universal Islands of Adventure. Universal tickets for Volcano Bay water park can also be added.

Three-day passes range from $352 to $521, depending on the date. That equates to between $118 and $174 per park per day. Like many theme parks, Universal Orlando has dynamic pricing. Further pricing details can be found on Universal’s website.

Guests who bundle multi-day tickets with stays at any of Universal Orlando’s 11 hotels — including the three new ones near Epic — can save up to $200 as part of their vacation package.

Beyond the Parks: How to Visit Universal Orlando Without Park Tickets

On Thursday, October 24, Universal Orlando Annual Passholders will be the first to purchase one-day Epic Universe tickets at special prices. The prices will be announced on the same day. Universal said each passholder can only purchase one additional ticket per date, with a limit of six tickets per purchase transaction to accommodate passholders whose accounts are linked to other passholders.

The resort has not yet announced when the one-day Epic Universe tickets will be available to the general public. Details on this, as well as other multi-day tickets, Florida resident tickets, military promotions and Universal Express passes, will be released in the coming months.

The Florida resort is phasing out ticket sales to meet high demand for the new park.

Guests access each theme world through a portal.

Where is Epic Universe located?

Epic Universe will be located on Sand Lake Road, which Universal said is a 10- to 15-minute drive from existing Orlando theme parks.

How to get to the Universal Epic Universe

Universal Orlando offers free resort transportation between its parks. It will also be available between the Epic Universe and Universal hotels.

Located on 750 acres, Epic Universe will be Universal Orlando’s largest theme park.

“Epic Universe represents a tremendous addition and nearly doubles the size of Universal Orlando Resort,” said Mark Woodbury, president and CEO of Universal Destinations and Experiences, in a video introducing the park. “This gives us the opportunity to bring people to Universal Orlando for an entire week of the most incredible experiences they can imagine.”

Epic Universe Hotels

There will be three Universal hotels near the park, all owned by Loews like the other hotels on the property.

Universal Stella Nova Resort will open on January 21, 2025. The sister property Universal Terra Luna Resort opens on February 25th. Both are prime value hotels, such as the Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort and the Universal Aventura Hotel. Reservations are currently possible for these.

The Universal Helios Grand Hotel, part of Universal’s Signature Collection, will be adjacent to Epic Universe and will have its own exclusive park entrance for hotel guests. Reservations for Helios Grand begin October 22, 2024 for stays beginning May 22, 2025.
