Albany police are investigating the early morning shooting in Madison Park

Albany police say they are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday morning in Madison Park.

Police responded to Madison Avenue and Ontario Street around 4 a.m. for reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they said they found a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

The investigation has so far revealed that two people fired shots at each other in the park, with one of them being hit, the police said.

According to authorities, the man was treated at the scene and taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
