PlayStation fans are upset about Spider-Man 2’s imminent PC announcement

Story highlight

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was officially announced for PC a year after its release.
  • While PC fans are pretty happy with this announcement, PlayStation fans are not
  • The latter believes that the PS5 no longer has any value since all exclusive games will eventually be available on PC.

It’s been a year since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released and Sony has decided to surprise PC fans to mark its anniversary. The gaming giant has announced that the PC port of the game will be released on January 30th.

While PC gamers are happy about this news, PlayStation fans are not. In fact, they are angry. PlayStation fans have expressed their frustration on social media claiming this PS5 has no value anymore and they expected a DLC, not a PC port.

Why it matters: Fans don’t believe that the PlayStation 5 has any benefits anymore, as the time between PS5 and PC release is rapidly shortening.

The PlayStation exclusive list is getting smaller and smaller

In the official PC port announcement on the PlayStation Twitter account, the fan base clearly expressed their frustration. Some fans claim it was a bad decision I ask where the DLC is.

AND THEY CANCELED ALL THE DLCS TO FIT THE PC QUANTITY 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

Some even claim that the list of exclusives is getting even smaller. Fans are now mocking the gaming giant by saying that Hermen would rather invest in another DLC than make a DLC $200 million for his baby Concord.

Then what’s the damn point of a PS5 and especially a PS5 Pro?!

Some users are confused with Sony’s strategy. You’re wondering: If the PS5 Pro is more powerful than 90% of Steam’s PC survey, why would Sony release its games on PC? Most of them are even more angry because the announcement comes so early.

Ghost of Tsushima was released on PC after 4 years, while God of Ragnarok was released after 2 years. As such, PS5 fans may have been hoping that the announcement of a PC port wouldn’t happen for at least a year.

Some even believe that all the leaked source code forced Sony to reveal it earlier. The anger of PlayStation fans seems to be justified They expected DLC for the game but the developer seems to have done away with it in favor of a PC port.

What do you think of Insomniac’s decision to announce a PC port instead of DLC? Do you think it was the right decision? Let us know what you think in the comments section or join the discussion on the official Tech4Gamers forums.
