Teen stabbed during a football game at Peoria High School

PEORIA, AZ (AZFamily) — A teenager is recovering after being stabbed at a high school football game in Peoria late Friday night.

According to Peoria police, officers were called to Peoria High School near 83rd Avenue and Cholla Street around 9:15 p.m. during the football game. When police arrived, they found a 17-year-old boy who had been stabbed in the stomach area.

The teenager was taken to hospital with minor injuries. However, no suspects have been identified or arrested.

Officers say the stabbing was an isolated crime and there was no threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing.
